Bringing Awareness, Developing Partnerships, and Creating Initiatives.

At Foster Care Unplugged, we understand that the child welfare system can have a significant physical, emotional, and spiritual impact on young people. We are here to shine a light on these experiences and provide support to those who have been affected.

Our transparent and compassionate community recognizes that youth often undergo trauma prior to being placed in foster care and continue to face challenges throughout their journey. We believe in fostering positive outcomes for our young people, birth parents, foster parents, and stakeholders. That's why we develop non-traditional programs that support the child welfare structure and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

Through advocacy, non-traditional therapeutic programming, and community service, we aim to provide a holistic approach to healing and growth. Our programs are designed to address the unique needs of each individual and help them overcome the challenges they face.

In 2017, we launched FCUP, our 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This spinoff of Foster Care Unplugged's platform was created to expand the services we offer to young people and families in need. With the support of our community, we continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by the child welfare system. Join us in our mission to create a brighter future for foster care youth.

Foster Care Unplugged is WMBE certified in New York City.

Foster Care Unplugged, The Talk Show

Foster Care Unplugged, The Talk Show is a platform launch through Dame Dash Studios in April 2022. With the many different lived experiences youth undergo within the child welfare system, Foster Care Unplugged, The Talk Show aims to use its platform to shed awareness on how it has directly impacted them. Its aim is to highlight the character and resiliency used to navigate through the specific roles that they play within the system. As we expand, we also aim to interview advocates, policy makers, and key leadership who have contributed to the progression of our structure. The Talk Show is not for, nor against the families, nor the child welfare system; but rather create a safe space the greater community to understand where to move the needle forward as a united front. By having courageous conversations, we examine the key elements to remaining teachable, exercise empathy, healing, and avenues to celebrate our contributions as a whole.
