Foster Care Unplugged: The Stage Play

Follow the story of foster care youth + alumni as they reveal the emotional hurdles that motivate them to never loose sight of hope.

Foster Care Unplugged, The Stage Play will be a production lead by former, and current foster care youth who will collectively be active participants in the play. Cast Members completed a 12-week intensive program developed by Deus Beni Productions. Through Deus Beni Academy, youth have acquired skills in the area of basic acting techniques, script analysis, and scene study fundamentals. Each Member also engaged in a therapeutic performance-based component, lead by Foster Care Unplugged to promote the awareness of real life child welfare experiences. Such experiences were transferred into written material for the production, to showcase foster care in its truest form and/or “Unplugged”, through the lens of each member. Deus Beni Academy professionals assigned to each cast member included professional actors who are also foster care alumni, life coaches; and an acting coach to support them throughout the training.
